Lead poisoning screenings are being held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at 21 Fifth Ave.

State Sen. Jeff Kelin, D-Bronx/Westchester is sponsoring on site lead poisoning screenings for residents of the apartment building at 21 Fifth Ave. in Pelham from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.

The screening are being done in partnership with Medalliance Medical Health Services and Affinity Health Plan.

Exposure to lead paint, even for a short while, can produce many potential health risks. Also, those infected by lead can continue on without displaying symptoms.

The tests are free and take an average of about fifteen to twenty minutes to complete. People interested in being screened are asked to RSVP with Klein’s district office by calling (718) 822-2049.
