Huguenot Memorial Church Team Gets Down in the Mud

Here's what to know and where to go in Pelham:

  • The Our Lady of Perpetual Help church office will be open for summer hours (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) through this Friday, Aug. 16. Normal hours resume on Monday, Aug. 19, according to the church bulletin.
  • The Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series continues with Silver Streaks at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the band shell in Hudson Park, New Rochelle. The concert is free.
  • "Have you ever run a 5K? Have you ever played in the mud? Well how about doing them both at the same time, with a bunch of your church friends? The Merrel Down & Dirty Mud Run is a mud-themed obstacle race that takes place at Orchard Beach on Sunday, Sept. 29. A group of church members plan to run the race while raising money for next summer's youth mission trips. If you would like to join us, please contact jbolton@huguenotchurch.org for more information and to join the Fun." -- from an announcement on the Huguenot Memorial Church's website.
  • Read Pelham Patch's article to find out more about the Pelham Book Club. The first meeting of the year is on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:30pm, when members will discuss "Daughters of the Revolution" by Carolyn Cooke.
