5 Things: 10 Minute Plays, Yoga on the Green, and the Big Band

5 things to know for Friday, August 5.

1. 10 Minute Play Competition 
Go to the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival today in Garrison, NY for the ! Today’s performance is a  selection of 10-Minute Plays, written by award-winning playwrights. It’s not only a play, but a contest! The plays will be judged by a panel and the winners will perform on August 20. It will be like sitting in on a live game show!

2. Big Band Performance at Playland Boardwalk

This is the last chance to see Milt and his orchestra play at the Playland Park Boardwalk in Rye. Be sure to get there at 7:30p.m. for the concert, and definitely don’t leave until after the fireworks, which begin at 9:15p.m. itself is free, though parking is $5.  

3. Yoga on the Green

Looking to end a week of work with a relaxing yoga routine? Join certified yoga instructors on the green of the from 6 to 7p.m. or from 7:15p.m. to 8:15p.m. Arrive 15 minutes before class to register. You must be 15 years old or older, and if you are under 18, you need parental consent.

4. Wali Ali at Watercolor Cafe

Today at the is Wali Ali, a jazz guitarist, and his tambourine band. Wali Ali is known for his performances with Taj Mahal, Tom Browne, and many more.The show is free, at 8:30p.m.
