Bronx Zoo Cobra Named Mia

Voters decided the snake's name should be Mia.

Mia, maybe for a baby girl—but a cobra snake?

Close to 60,000 people thought it was fitting, and voted for it to be the name of the Bronx Zoo’s hiding Egyptian cobra.

The Bronx Zoo and New York Daily News asked the public to submit a name for the deadly snake—who was believed to have escaped two weeks ago, made headlines and was found last Thursday in a corner of the zoo’s reptile house.

I would've gone with Amaunet, which according to The Associated Press is an ancient Egyptian goddess, and means "the female hidden one."

What would you have chosen? Or what did you choose?
