Building Playgrounds, Drinking Tea During Summer Hours and Pairing Bagels with Babysitters

The hump is already here and so is 5 Things, to get you over it.

Help Build a Playground

The Greenburgh Nature Center is , and you can help get it off the ground. The center has identified a location, but can’t build the swing sets and other necessary fun structures without your tax-deductible donations. Visit the center’s website to find out how you can help transform this playground pipe dream into a reality – and a future destination for sunny days spent with your kids and grandkids.

Bagels, babies and babysitters—what more could a haggard parent looking for a reprieve ask for? Westchester Reform Temple Early Childhood Center (WRT ECC) will host a free Bagels & Babies program to give moms, dads and caregivers a safe and fun space for their tots to play with peers, while giving parents a morning off. This drop-in program will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on July 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 27 and Aug. 1. It’s free, open to the public and registration is not required. Join in on our Moms Talk

As the resident experts on everything fun, your kids may pose some pretty compelling arguments to get you off your laptop and onto a bike, raft, boat or other summer vehicle that presents a high risk for exciting adventure. Our Moms Talk columnist, Cathy Taylor, shares how her daughter coaxed her into riding her bicycle over the weekend and what she culled from the experience. Check back at 1 p.m. for her story.
