Free Treats at Starbucks, Psychic Readings and Rain That Won't go Away

Count down to Friday with the Five Things You Need to Know Today

Family Time: Connections Count

It’s that time of the month again, where you and family designate a night to eat dinner together. As usual, local restaurants have stepped up to get involved and will slash 15 percent off your bill. Struggling to get the family together? In case you missed it, our mom columnist tackled just that yesterday.

Participating restaurants: The Bakery at Four Corners, Gourmet Express, Lola’s Tea House, Luigi’s Pizza, MAD Café, Marcello’s Pizza, Number 1 Chinese, Pelham Palace, Rigatoni Restaurant. Kids eat for free at B & B’s Fifth Avenue Pub, Bistro Rollin and Johnny’s on 5th.

 Happy 40th Birthday Starbucks

Starbucks hasn’t hit Pelham (yet) but it’s spent the last 40 years cropping up all over the country. To celebrate its four decades of latte-making, the chain is treating customers to a free Petites treat (with a drink purchase) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today through Saturday.

Rain, Rain Won’t go Away

The National Weather Service has declared (another) flood watch. Expect another round of heavy rainfall that may amount to 1 to 2 inches tonight.

Don’t Forget to Pack it Up for Purim

Today is the last day to participate in a food drive organized by the nearby Pelham Jewish Center. The center has partnered with the UJA-Federation in New York City as part of the organization's efforts to create and donate 1,000 food packages to those in need. The donations given to the Pelham Jewish Community Center will go to homebound senior citizens in Co-Op City in the Bronx.
