2. NYAC ST VALENTINE’S DAY MASSACRE ERG REGATTA 2011

Where/When: , Saturday, 8 a.m.

Why Go: Let your competitive nature shine (while getting in some excellent cardio) at this competitive rowing event. Not a pro? Not a problem- races are for those of all ages and skill levels.

3. COMMUNITY FARMERS MARKET-SPONSORED BY ST. THOMAS’ EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Where/When: Mamaroneck Indoor Community Farmers Market, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Who doesn’t love local produce in the heart of winter? Plus, The Pelham Art Center is doing a hand-on art project to celebrate the day of love (Valentine’s Day) with artist Zafiro Acevedo.

4. A MUSICAL JAUNT THROUGH PELHAM HISTORY

Where/When: 45 Iden Avenue, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Go back in time to hear music from the 18th, 19th, and 20th at the Pelhamdale, a house built c.1757. Members of the Collegium and Harvard Alumni will be led by Eric Kramer '87 Musical Director of the Collegium in an afternoon of music and song this National Register of Historic Places. Wine and light refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Westchester.

5. WHOOO SAID THAT? 

Where/When: Pelham Bay Park, Sunday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: Bring out the kid in you, grab your binoculars, and head to Hunter Island to see some wild owls. Winter time is the best time to view them, so don’t miss out on this educational experience, hosted by the Urban Park Rangers.
