Celebrate the Luck of the Irish, Jam to Jewish Rock and Delight in Maple Syrup Fun

They say that everyone has a bit ‘o the Irish in them on St. Patty’s Day, so dig out the green this weekend. Although a scent of spring will be in the air, mud galore is guaranteed--so plan accordingly!  Here’s a hodgepodge of things the kids might enjoy this weekend:

Irish Concert with the McLean Ave. Band
Where/When:  Friday, March 11 at the Montessori Academy, 160 Woodlawn Ave, Yonkers from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Why Go:  Kids can enjoy Irish music and marvel at the Irish Dancers from the Lynn Academy of Irish Concert, and maybe dance a jig themselves.

• St. Patrick’s Day Parade  
Where/When: Sunday, March 13 3 p.m. in Eastchester, beginning at the steps of Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe.  Or, in White Plains at 12 p.m. on Mamaroneck Avenue.
Why Go:  Bagpipes, Irish Dancers, and a balmy afternoon-need I say more?

Where/When: Saturday, March 12 at 8 p.m. at the Paramount.
Why Go:  Nelson’s “high octane” Jewish rock will thrill and inspire your teens, and you’ll own the title of “coolest mom.” Listen here.
