Grab & Go Kids Planner: Celebrating Moms and Farms

Make a special gift for Mom, spend a day on the farm, or enjoy a Mother's Day Brunch for charity.

There's lots to do for and with Mom this weekend.  I'm a mom of three kiddos, and outside of the gift of a few hours in my garden, there'd be nothing better than watching the kids enjoy family fun. Get out and make Mother's Day extra special!


Where/When: Saturday, May 7 from 11 a.m. until 1p.m. at the Beczak Environmental Education Center.
Why Go: Kids ages 5-12 can create their very own Mother’s Day gift using real flowers and natural materials to put a smile on Mom’s face.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Sunday, May 8 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture.
Why Go: There’s no better way to spend Mother’s Day than watching the kids have fun on the farm collecting eggs, making a special planting for mom, meeting animals moms and babies, and more. Registration for each program is required!
Pricing: $10 for Mother’s Day planting, register for all programs here.


Where/When: Sunday, May 8 at 2 p.m. at the Greenburgh Nature Center.
Why Go: Children will spend time with the animals at the GNC and discover what the animals eat at feeding time.
Pricing: Free with museum admission.


Where/When: Saturday, May 7 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Neuberger Museum of Art
Why Go: Kids can create their own versions of Mexican artist Betsabee Romero’s contemporary art, then see a Mexican musical performance.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the Rochambeau Theater.
Why Go: A musical performance of E.B. White’s classic book will enchant children from grade Pre-K to grade 3.
Pricing: $14.


Where/When: Friday, May 6 or Saturday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Archbishop Stepinac High School.
Why Go: The Drama Club will put on a professional performance of this beautiful and touching musical, and kids are invited to dress up as their favorite character and meet cast members following the performance.
Pricing: $18 adults, $13 children under 12.


Where/When: Sunday, May 8 from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester.
Why Go: Families can enjoy a lovely mother’s day brunch while helping to reaise funds for the Autism Science Foundation, Toward Tomorrow, SNAAC and SibConnection.

Where/When: Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Village of Pelham.
Why Go: All are invited to this day of games, crafts, and free lemonade on the Town Green and Town House.
Pricing:  Free.
