Grab & Go Kids Planner: Crafts, Films and Halloween Parties

Fun weekend events for the kids.

1.
Where/When:
Pelham Art Center, 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham, Saturday, Oct. 29, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Why Go:
Explore the Mexican culture by celebrating the Day of the Dead (El Dia de los Muertos) at the Pelham Art Center. Aurelia Fernandez and Zafiro Romero-Acevedo are two folk artists who will lead a craft project creating a paper memorial altar. This event is for all ages and will include a folk dance performance by Telpochcalli Traditional Mexican Performing Art and Theater.

Free.

Where/When:
1402 Old Orchard St, White Plains, Sunday, Oct. 30, 12-3 p.m.
Why Go:
Children’s Day is an event where children up to 10 years old come dressed in their costumes and enjoy arts and crafts, games and refreshments. Mario the Magician will perform, and there will also be a costume contest. Each child gets to leave with treats and prizes.

$10.

Where/When:
, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, Sunday, Oct. 30, 1:15-2:15 p.m.
Why Go:
In the Ossie Davis Theater, New Rochelle Public Library is showing a Halloween-themed film, Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). See this classic film how it was meant to be seen—on the silver screen.

Free.

Where/When:
, 19 Lecount Pl., New Rochelle, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 29 and 30, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Why Go:
Kids ages 12 and under get to wear costumes and receive a free Fuze Card for games. On Saturday there will be a costume contest with prizes and Sunday will have a Halloween party. Both days will include a Kids Only Halloween Lunch Special.

Free.

Where/When:
The Science Barge, 99 Dock St, Yonkers, Sunday, Oct. 30, 2-4 p.m.
Why Go:
Ages 4-10 get to carve a jack-o-lantern to take home with them.
Pricing:
$5 (supply fee).
