Wesleyan film professor Scott Higgins teaches his final class of a series on Hollywood 1940s masterpieces tonight. This evening, Higgins explores “End of an Era: New Forms, Old Stories, and a Social Message,” from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

3. Hit an Outdoor Concert

The Silver Streaks Band, a six-member crew that performs everything from the classics to the Top 40 hits, breaks out its instruments at Hudson Park and Beach tonight in New Rochelle. This free concert kicks off at 7 p.m. and is part of the weekly Summer Sounds Concert Series.

4.  Watch out for the Heat

Temperatures continue to rise today to a forecasted high of 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. However, we’re in the clear for a serious heat wave until Thursday. Come tomorrow, the NSW anticipates implementing an excessive heat watch from Thursday night through Friday. Check back for updates.

5. View Nature Through a Telephoto Lens

Georgia O’Keefe viewed nature with her own perspective, and so do the 27 participating members of the Color Camera Club of Westchester.
