Jan. 10: Clean Your Desk, Get Tickets for "Race to Nowhere" and Watch a Hockey Game

Monday blues, who? With all that's going on around town today, you should TGIM.

Monday doesn’t have to be a drag, unless you want it to be. In which case, don’t read on, because we have some pretty interesting pick-me-ups on tap for today.

1. Reserve: “Race to Nowhere” tickets

Locals have been nabbing up tickets for “Race to Nowhere,” the documentary about our school system's hyper-obsessive college application culture, that's making its way through town. Though tonight’s 7 p.m. screening at is sold out, you can still catch a viewing—and a post-movie discussion—at the on Jan. 25 at 7:15 p.m. Reserve a free ticket today so you’re not left out in the cold. Again.

2. Celebrate: National Clean off your Desk Day

Happy National Clean Off Your Desk Day! (No, we are not making this up and yes, you should clean that candy container out). Whether or not getting organized was on your litany of resolutions, take some time today to get rid of that obstructive clutter. Our tip? Unsubscribe from those listerv emails you don't actually read. You'll clear out your inbox and get motivated to move on to your actual um, desk.

3. Watch: PMHS Pelicans vs. Scarsdale Raiders

Now that the snow has stopped getting in the way of after-school activities, we can resume rooting for our high school athletes. Cheer onvarsity ice hockey team as players take on the Scarsdale Raiders tonight at 5:45 p.m. at the Ice Hutch. Check in tomorrow for our coverage of the game.

 4. Sweat: At the Barre Core

Hit up Barre Core mixed class at 6:30. Over the course of just one hour, you'll work to tone up those bicep, tricep, shoulder, chest, back, thigh and seat muscles. Expect to use free weights and to get into a whole bunch of sweat-inducing positions from push-up to plank. The ballet barre comes into play when working out your body's lower half and, the class concludes with ab moves and some well-earned deep, relaxing breathing.

5. Attend: Pelham Manor Town Hall meeting

Put in your two cents when the Town of Pelham's board members tackle budget concerns and other critical village matters at tonight's meeting that kicks off at 7 p.m. Can't make it? No worries. Patch will be there, tweeting the highlights and putting together a recap to post in the a.m. on Tuesday.
