ESPN The Magazine Writer to Speak at Picture House Tonight

Shaun Assael, a senior writer for ESPN The Magazine who has spent more than a decade covering doping in Olympic and professional sports, will lead a discussion entitled Steroid Nation and the Olympics at the in Pelham tonight at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Assael's book Steroid Nation, which was published in 2007, examined the history of and usage of steroids in American culture. An excerpt from the book is available here

Faculty and Student Showcase Ends This Week

This week is the last chance to check out the   "Faculty and Student Showcase."

The annual exhibition, which  feature the selected artworks of the art center's teachers and students, end this Friday, Aug. 10.

Led Zep Concert Film Screens Thursday

Shelley Archives Presents: Led Zeppelin in Concert (Rare Films), will screen at The Picture House on Thursday, Aug. 9 . The film contains rare footage of the band performing on television, in concert and in the studion. Performances shown in the film include renditions of their hit songs “Dazed and Confused,” “Black Dog,” “Kashmir,” “Moby Dick,” and “Stairway To Heaven.” 

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets cost $12 at the door or $9 in advance. Seniors, students and children pay $10 at the door or $8 in advance. Picture House members pay $6. Go to The Picture House's Web site here for more information.
