Here's a heads up on some things you may not want to miss.

 

Bartow-Pell Luncheon

The deadline to RSVP for the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum's annual Spring Luncheon is Thursday, May 31.

The guest speaker for the event, which takes place June 7 on the museum's Pebble Court, is Amy Freitag, executive director of the New York Restoration Project. Lunch will follow after her presentation and there will be time to stroll museum gardens afterward.

Tickets for the Spring Luncheon are: Lacecap Hydrangea, $75; Climbing Rose, $125; and Stargazer Lily, $175. The two higher-level tickets include listing in the program. RSVP by calling (718) 885-1461 or emailing info@bpmm.org

Child Development Program for Professionals

Applications for the Facilitating Play program at Sarah Lawrence College's Child Development Institute are due today.

The program, consists of seminars, field observations and other hands-on activities for professionals and graduate students June 10-12.

The program fee is $400, but a limited number of scholarships are available. For more information call (914) 395-2630 or e-mail cdi@sarahlawrence.edu.

Fundraiser for African Orphanage

The organizers of the "Malawi Fundraiser for Hope" ask that anyone who registers for advance tickets do so by May 30. 

The fundraiser is being hosted by Teens for Hope, a group of teen age students residing in Westchester, to benefit orphan students at the Home of Hope Orphanage in Malawi, Africa. The fundraiser will consist of a concert, dinner, fashion show, raffle, and video and guest speakers. The cost is $25 per adult and $10 students, children 5 and under are free. Childcare will be provided.

Tickets will still be made available at the door for anyone who misses Wednesday's deadline. 

Bob Marley Documentary

The Picture House in Pelham is having its last showing of the documentary "Marley" on Thursday, May 31. 

The film follows the life of muscian Bob Marley and features rare footage, musical performances and interviews with people close to him. Check here for more information and showtimes.
