Latin Not Getting Cut from PMS

Some rumors have been flying that Pelham Middle School may be nixing its Latin instruction, but that’s not actually the case. Superintendent Dr. Dennis Lauro assured parents at Monday night’s board meeting that the school is on the hunt for a certified instructor and may have zeroed in on a potential candidate.

Relay For Life—the 24-hour relay race on June 4 to 5 to raise money for the American Cancer Society—is coming up and the planning is well under way. Join team captains and fellow team members tonight at at 5:30 p.m. for a look into the “Fun’draisers” awards and prizes side of this rewarding event.

Golf is in full swing at PMHS and Patch will be there to cover all 18 holes of it today at 4:15 when Pelham takes on New Rochelle at the Pelham Country Club. Check back tomorrow for our story.

April Showers Bring…Thunderstorms

Expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm today, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will fall to around 48 degrees by 5 p.m. with new rainfall amounting between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
