Pelham-Based Cadets Promoted

Pelham Mayor Ed Hotchkiss attended the event with state-level officers of the Civil Air Patrol and government officials.


It was a proud day for members of the Pelham-based Westchester Cadet Squadron 1 of the Civil Air Patrol who were promoted. Pelham Mayor Ed Hotchkiss attended the event with state-level officers of the Civil Air Patrol and government officials. The ceremony also included other Westchester area cadet squadrons. During the ceremony, which was held at Yonkers' Riverfront Library, cadets and senior members were promoted.

Adrian Kahaner was promoted to Cadet Chief Master Sergeant. Kahaner also received the Air Force Association's Squadron Cadet of the Year Award. Michael Cali, Branden Knight, Hava Rogatsky and LeVaughn Monteith were promoted to senior airmen. Brenna Chen and Alejandro Kahaner were promoted to Airmen First Class. And Sharmein Mamuji was promoted to cadet airman.

The ceremony featured a performance by the Phantom Regimental Drill Team. The Team is a joint color guard and drill team. They are comprised cadets from each squadron.

All of the cadets got proclamations from the New York State Legislature. The proclamations recognized the cadets for their achievements.
