Mint juleps, fancy hats, and an old-time Dixieland band in Pelham Bay Park can mean only one thing — the annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum! On Saturday, May 4, from 5–7:30 p.m., guests can support the museum and watch the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby in style. With the Greek Revival mansion and its soon-to-be-restored garden as backdrop, partygoers will delight in a spring evening spent in a country-like setting while showing off their Derby finest.

They’ll also find much to vie for as items in the live and silent auctions will range from design consultations with a New York City interior designer and a Westchester-based landscape architect, a summer stay at High House in Kittery, Maine, dinner at a private, waterside Victorian on City Island and at Underhill Crossing in Bronxville, tickets to various events, plus many other wonderful items and opportunities. In addition, two prizes will be given for the most original and the most elegant hats.

Festivities at the mansion will be followed by five dinners taking place in Pelham and Bronxville, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Dinner hosts are Sherry and Bob Donovan; Kathleen Donahue and Kelly Faloon; Nora and Marc Mazur; Ann Marie and Steve Pitkin, and Jill and Michael Pytosh, co-hosting with Lisa and Wayne Hofflich.
