Pelham Fashion Show Aims to Raise Money for the Hungry

Spring fashion takes place May 7 at the New York Athletic Club on Travers Island in Pelham.

Fun and fashion won’t be the only thing forefront when “Runway Magic” hits the in Pelham on May 7.

Event organizers also have another goal and that’s giving a helping hand to the needy in Westchester County.

“It is critical for us, in the real estate community, to help those less fortunate,” said Bonnie Koff, the event chairperson and an Associate Broker at the William Raveis Legends Realty Group.

“Runway Magic” is a spring fashion show sponsored by the the Empire Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors and Bloomingdale’s. Proceeds from the show will be used to support the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.

Bloomingdale’s is providing the clothes for the show, which will be modeled by  Jason Kerwar, Jason Wilson, Mark Aakjar, John Copulos, Dorothy Jensen, Molly Jensen, Wendy Philips, Yolanda Gorman, Lisa Hogan Theiss and Tim Donahue of the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless.

Wayne La Franco of Coldwell Banker, White Plains, will be the event MC.

"We are so excited about our Spring Fashion Event, ‘Runway Magic,’ and we look forward to seeing our Realtors, as well as members of the public, at this fabulous affair,” Koff said.

Tickets for the event, which will go on sale April 12, are $65.  Premium tables along runway are $700 for nine people.  Tables of 10 not along the runway are $650.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. with lunch and fashions starting at 1 p.m.
