Pelham Appoints Three Probationary Teachers

The Board of Education appointed three new teachers on Monday night—Megan Rice, Rosario Beltran-Ross and Steven Mincin. Ms. Rice will serve as a social studies teacher at PMHS and will replace Michael Tromblee who was promoted to Director of Technology. Ms. Beltran-Ross, a native of Spain, will teach her mother tongue in both the high school and middle school. The search for a high school Latin pedagogue is over now that Mr. Mincin, a certified instructor, will be teaching the classic language.

Prospect Hill Parents Protest Losing Deirdre Stein

Prospect Hill parents rallied in droves on Monday night to urge the Board of Education to keep Deirdre Stein at their kids’ school. The administration is currently considering transferring the fifth grade instructor over to Colonial Elementary School, which parents argue is unfair since they’ve had a number of such shakeups in recent years.  When you soar down the street on your skateboard today, know that you’re also celebrating the sport’s official holiday, one that Congress has deemed official. Lore suggests that the holiday’s name derives the enthusiasts who changed "No Skateboarding" signs to "Go Skateboarding."
