Run for a Board of Education Seat

Interested in running for Pelham’s Board of Education? Two seats are available. If you’ve been a Pelham resident for at least a year, are a qualified voter and are over the age of 18, then you’re eligible to run. Just secure 27 signatures from qualified Pelham voters and submit them to Stevie Pollock at her office in PMHS by 5 p.m. on Monday. Elections are scheduled for May 17.

Prospect Hill’s students take to the stage tonight from 6:30 to 9 p.m. to show off their skills at the talent show in the auditorium

Poetry Awards Named at Pelham Library

The winners of the James J. Nicholson Political Poetry Prize, three awards named for the influential supporter of the Pelham Public Library, are honored at tonight’s reception at 7:30 pm. The evening will feature readings by Sherman K. Poultney, who judged the adult category, along with award recipients Gerard Becker, Rahil Dedhia and Una Corbett. Student honorable mentions include Sarah Rubock and John “Jack” Roche.

Volunteer with County Harvest

Volunteer Week is still going strong and your efforts would be put to good use at County Harvest, a non-profit that picks up excess food and donates to needy agencies. There are a number ways that you can get involved—pick up food on a weekly basis, serve as an “on call” volunteer or help organize storage containers.
