New Rochelleans Film Series: Purlie Victorious, Thursday, March 21, 7 p.m. New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle, NY. Preacher Purlie Victorius Judson (Ossie Davis) returns home to rural Georgia to claim an inheritance and bring down ol' Cap'n Stonewall Jackson Cotchipee, the ruthless plantation owner he once served. Accompanying Purlie is Miss Lutiebell Jenkins (Ruby Dee), pretty young girl who has captured his heart. Free.

Easter Egg Hunt! Saturday, March 23, 10 a.m. Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, 895 Shore Rd., Bronx, NY. Cost: $12 children 2–12; members $10. This is one day when it’s okay to put all your eggs in one basket! Children 2–12 hunt for eggs in the formal garden, tap their talent at arts and crafts tables, and have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Please bring your own basket. The Heart and Drum As One: An African/African-American Folk Art Experience, Saturday, March 23, 1:30 p.m. Pelham Art Center, 155 Fifth Ave., Pelham, NY. ArtsWestchester Arts Award Winner Baba Abishai will lead an open circle and exercise of African and African-American drumming, dance, and storytelling, free and open to everyone! Fred Smith and the Masters of Swing: When Harlem Was King and the Music Was Swing Street and Broadway, Saturday, March 23, 8 p.m. ArtsWestchester, 31 Mamaroneck Ave., White Plains, NY. Tickets $20. Trumpet master and jazz educator Fred Smith leads a talented quartet for an evening of classic swing. 18th Annual Charity Cup Hockey Game, Sunday, March 24, 1 p.m. Ebersole Ice Rink, 110 Lake St., White Plains, NY. Tickets: $5 per person, $20 per family.
