The one-day trip for 75 veterans is free and will feature a visit to several memorials. The veterans can also bring a companion.

The Westchester County Veterans Service Agency in partnership with Hudson Valley Honor Flight, a non-profit organization that offers American World War II veterans a free one-day trip to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials, are excited to announce that Westchester County Airport will host its first “honor flight” on Saturday, October 18.
Several times a year, Hudson Valley Honor Flight organizes a one-day trip out of various airports to and from Washington, D.C. for 75 veterans and one companion throughout the Hudson Valley. The organization coordinates all trip details from transportation to meals and tours.

Astorino. “Partnering with non-profit organizations, local businesses, and community leaders is essential in helping us provide veterans in Westchester with wonderful opportunities.”
In order to make this trip possible, Westchester County Veterans Service Agency and Hudson Valley Honor Flight are seeking volunteers to help:
· Contact local businesses and organizations to seek sponsorship opportunities
· Locate interested veterans
· Coordinate travel information
· Escort veterans to and from Westchester County Airport
· Serve as a voice to the veteran community
All those interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend the Honor Flight committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23 at Westchester Community College’s Student Center - Room 159, 65 Grasslands Road in Valhalla. Free parking is available in lot 8.
