Japanese Culture Blooms at Pelham Art Center's Cherry Blossom Festival

Visitors learn Japanese dances and the art of Ikebana.

As part of the Pelham Art Center's Folk Art Series, visitors on Saturday afternoon took part in a Cherry Blossom Festival showcasing Japanese culture.

The IchiFuki-kai Dance Association led a workshop in classical Japanese dance in addition to a workshop in Ikebana—or flower arranging.

Visitors also wrote messages for the "Wish Tree," a Cherry Blossom tree donated by a local grower.

The Folk Arts Series has programs throughout the year which focus on different nationalities through the arts. For more information on upcoming programs, visit the center's Web site at: www.pelhamartcenter.org
