Please join us as we celebrate this extremely accomplished stage and screen actor with a screening of the highly acclaimed film Starting Out in the Evening. Following the screening, Mr. Langella will answer questions about the film and his long career. The Q&A will be moderated by New York magazine's film critic David Edelstein. Mr. Edelstein wrote of Mr. Langella's performance in the film, "Above all is Langella, achingly vulnerable under layers of flesh. In one scene, alone, he eats peanut butter intensely, thoughtfully, and nothing he could do as Hamlet would seem deeper or more poetic."

About the film: The solitary life of a writer is shaken when a smart, ambitious graduate student convinces him that her thesis will bring him back into the literary spotlight.
Winner of three Obie awards and two Drama Desk awards in theater, Mr. Langella is perhaps best known for his film work as Richard Nixon in FROST/NIXON. Nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor that year, he's been entertaining movie audiences for decades. His diverse roles include that of Dracula in the 1979 film of the same name, a political puppetmaster in DAVE, Clare Quilty in LOLITA, William Paley in GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK and Perry White in SUPERMAN RETURNS, among many others.
