Concerts at Christ Church presents Fantasia: Rhapsodies and Fantasies for Soloists, Chorus and Chamber Orchestra

Concerts at Christ Church, a community outreach of historic Christ Church in Pelham Manor, New York, will present a concert entitled Fantasia: Rhapsodies & Fantasies for Soloists, Chorus & Chamber Orchestra on Sunday, June 5 at 4:00 pm. An unexpected illness has force the originally-scheduled featured artist, contralto Jennifer Hines, to postpone her appearance singing Johannes Brahms's Alt-Rhapsodie, Op. 53 until next concert season. Instead, the four professional singers of Christ Church, Anneliese von Goerken, Tracy Bidleman, Stephen Wilson, and guest baritone John Schenkel, accompanied by duo pianists Jason Andrews and Jeffrey Hoffman, will perform Brahms's Liebeslieder-Walzer (Love Song-Waltzes), Op. 52.  Rounding out the program will be Franz Schubert's Missa No. 2 in G Major and Ludwig van Beethoven's Chor-Fantasie (Choral Fantasy), featuring Mr. Andrews as solo pianist and accompanied by members of the chamber orchestra Sinfonia Celestis, conducted by Maestro Hoffman. Tickets are available on the series web-site at www.concertsatchristchurchpelham.org or by calling 914-738-5515, ext. 102.
