Former Yankee Bernie Williams and His All-Star Band to Perform at Westchester's Ridge Hill

On Monday, July 16, 2012, Westchester’s Ridge Hill Summer Concert Series features Bernie Williams and His All-Star Band!

Williams is a four-time World Series Champion and a five-time All Star who signed his first contract with the Yankees at the ripe age of 17. Williams’ illustrious 16 year career included four gold-glove awards, six American League pennants and the 1998 American League batting title. A lesser-known fact about Bernie, though, is that at the age of 8 he fell in love with the sounds of a flamenco guitar his father brought home from Spain; from then on athletics and music have remained the twin loves of Bernie’s life. Since 2003 Williams has released two albums, reached #3 on Billboard’s contemporary Jazz chart, had two Billboard #1 singles and been nominated for a Latin Grammy. In 2011 Bernie returned to the studio to record his third album and published a book called Rhythms of the Game: The Link Between Music and Athletic Performance, about the connection between athletic accomplishment and musical artistry.
