F. Murray Abraham to Headline White Plains Performing Arts Center Gala

Academy Award Winner, F. Murray Abraham; Actors' Equity President Nick Wyman and Sirius Radio's Christine Pedi lead an evening of entertainment honoring long time theatre supporters, Peter Gisondi Sr. and Tony and Anthony Goncalves on Nov.2

White Plains Performing Arts Center's Board of Trustees announces its annual Gala, a celebration of the Performing Arts Center's Tenth Anniversary, to be held at the downtown White Plains theatre on Saturday, Nov. 2 beginning at 7:30 pm. The event will honor Peter Gisondi Sr. and Tony and Anthony Goncalves for their steadfast support of the theatre and its mission.

 “It is my particular pleasure to single out three stellar individuals who have been with us for the last decade with ongoing support and encouragement.  The Gisondi and Goncalves families are beloved members of our community and original Founders of the theatre who believe in the value of the arts to the residents of our City and region. We salute them for their leadership roles among the local business community in recognizing the theatre’s contribution to the quality of life and economy of our City”, said Board Chairman, John J. Ioris.

The program for the evening will also include a musical retrospective celebrating the best of the theatre’s past ten years with a sampling from the upcoming season.

 “We are delighted to relive the moments that have made WPPAC stand out in the landscape of professional regional theaters and also give a sneak peek at what's to come. This evening will be a spectacular, not-to-be-missed event”, said Jeremy Quinn, Producing Artistic Director. "In addition, we are honored to welcome Academy Award Winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), also a current cast member of Showtime's hit show, Homeland and Actors' Equity Association President, Nick Wyman (Broadway's Catch Me If You CanPhantom of the OperaLes Misérables and My Fair Lady among others as well as WPPAC's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Tryingand recurring on TV's Boardwalk Empire) who will give a unique and intimate "behind the scenes" look into the entertainment industry."

The evening’s Master of Ceremonies will be Sirius Radio’s Christine Pedi, who is "on-air" daily with her On Broadway series. Ms. Pedi has been seen on Broadway in Chicago and is well known for her work in Forbidden Broadway and as a MAC Award-winning Cabaret artist.

Gala tickets are available at the box office on the third level of City Center on Mamaroneck Avenue and Main Street or by calling 914-328-1600.   Premium tickets are $150 each and include a champagne reception before the show starting at 6:30 pm and an after party with the cast at 42 the Restaurant on top of the Ritz Carlton Hotel.  Regular ticket pricing is available at $65 and includes the show only, which begins at 7:30 pm.

White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC), a 501 © 3 not for profit arts organization, is a Professional Regional Theatre that produces critically acclaimed plays and musicals for the enrichment of the residents of our City and region.  The theatre has an affiliated year-round resident Conservatory Theatre program that trains and develops young theatrical artists through multi-disciplinary study and performance.  The WPPAC also hosts guest performers who present a wide variety of entertainment including concerts, comedy, dance, family shows and special events.  We strive to provide thought provoking and inspiring theatrical experiences that speak to our diverse backgrounds and shared human experience.
