Pelham Art Center Holds Drum Circle Event Saturday

The event is free and open to the public.

The presents a free drum circle event, facilitated by Damon Jackson of A.L.I.R.A.M. (A Lesson in Rhythm and Melody), on from 12:30 p.m to 2:30 pm. Saturday.

The drum circle is open to all ages, and no prior musical experience is necessary. Instruments are provided, or bring particpants can bring their own hand drum. Dancers are also welcome. The drum circle will be held at Pelham Art Center, inside the gallery.

A drum circle is a rhythm-based event where a diverse group of individuals and instruments are gathered for the common purpose of empowering a community with creative self-expression in a group music-making experience. In addition to providing a creative and emotional outlet, group drumming can promote many aspects of wellness, including exercise, stress reduction, and social support. Damon Jackson is a Remo HealthRHYTHMS trained facilitator and an active member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild.
