Pelham Picture House Awards Rossellini

The Picture House awarded film star Isabella Rossellini this weekend.

The Pelham Picture House's Big Night Spring Gala, which included big stars like Isabella Rossellini, was a big success this weekend. Rossellini received the Picture House's Harold Lloyd Industry Distinction Award. Rosselini stared in groundbreaking films such as "White Nights," "Blue Velvet" and "Big Night." Rosselini, who is Ingrid Bergman's daughter, is also a producer, author and filmmaker.

“Like The Picture House, they are visionary leaders in the film world, both in terms of their creative accomplishments and their support for independent films.” says Ann Sorice, the gala chair.

The Picture House's Big Night Spring Gala helped raised funds so the Picture House can continue its mission to present quality films and host educational programs.

“The Gala is an opportunity for us to thank the region for rallying in support of an iconic film house that is a treasured resource for all of southern Westchester County,” says John Calvelli, chair of the board of directors for the Picture House. ”Now it’s time to take it to the next stage, so we can continue to offer innovative films and educational programming and present the best movies in the industry using the latest technology.”

The Harold Lloyd Awards are named after silent, comedic film star Harold Lloyd. Lloyd hanging from the hands of a clock high above the street in the film "Safety Last!" is a quintessential film moment.
