ViewFinder: Mosaic Workshop Inspired by the Ocean Reglitterized Exhibit

Saturday afternoon free mosaic workshop for all ages.

Lisa Vassalotti led a classroom of children and adults in smashing tiles and plastering them onto a sketch of a sea turtle in the ocean at the Pelham Art Center Saturday, Oct. 1, during the “Underwater Mosaic Art Workshop.”

Each participant was given a chance to hammer tiles into little pieces.  For safety, the tiles were covered with towels and safety goggles were worn.  The tiles were organized by color.

Lisa explained to the class how the process can be therapeutic and rewarding.  She will either have another class to finish the piece or finish it herself in time to display before  “The Ocean Reglitterized” exhibit ends at the art center.
