ViewFinder: Westchester Capoeira Breaks Out Brazilian Moves at Pelham Art Center
Rather than just set up a booth for passerbys to stroll through, the Pelham Art Center invited Brazilian dancers to hit the pavement.
While Pelhamites lazily strolled through the booths at the street fair on Saturday, a group of Westchester Capoeira masters hit the pavement outside the Pelham Art Center with their martial arts/dance and folk art form. Ary Souza Lima headed up a troupe who spent an equal amount of time balancing on their hands as they did on their feet and was accompanied by fellow musicians, Capoeira professionals and students.
