Bistro Rollin to Kickoff Rotary Fundraiser Thursday
Pelham's French restaurant to donate ten percent of its gross receipts on Thursday, Sept. 22 to support a program that gives cardiac surgeries to needy children.
The Rotary Club of the Pelhams is organizing a fundraiser called "Tastings for Gift of Life," intended to help children with cardiac needs or problems; the event will be held on Oct. 16 at the New York Athletic Club in Pelham Manor. Seventeen restaurants have signed up thus far to participate.
A kickoff party is planned for Thursday, Sept. 22 at Bistro Rollin in Pelham. No speeches, just food from chef Manny Lozano's kitchen and fun.
Arthur Bratone, co-owner of Bistro Rollin with his wife Barbara and son Paul, sat down recently with officers of the Rotary Club of the Pelhams, and asked "What else can we do to help?"

The group concluded that a kickoff party on a September evening would help to spread the word about the October 16 main event and the night of Sept. 22 was subsequently selected.
"To help the kickoff party contribute revenue for the cause as well," Bratone said, "we agreed to contribute 10 percent of our gross receipts for the night."

All dinners served on Sept. 22 will qualify, Bratone said, whether selected from the regular menu, taken from the list of specials or ordered as prix-fixed, three-course meals, priced at $30 per person plus tax and tip.
This is the seventh year that the Rotary Club of the Pelhams has conducted "Tastings for Gift of Life."
The following establishments will contribute to the tasting tables at the October 16 fundraiser:

- Pelham Bakery, Pelham
- Posto 22, New Rochelle
- Provisions, Pelham
- Rainwater Grill, Hastings on hudson
- Rangoli, New Rochelle
- Ristorante Buona Sera, Mt.Vernon
- Siena, New Rochelle
- Zitoune, Mamaroneck
Beverages will be donated by the Blue Moon Brewing Company and Joe Larocca's French Wine Shop which will also offer bottles of wine for purchase at a discount with part of the proceeds going to the cause.
Bistro Rollin is located at 142 Fifth Ave., Pelham. On Sept. 22, dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Beverages will be provided by the Blue Moon Brewing Company and Joe Larocca's French Wine Shop, which will also offer also offered bottled wines for sale at a discount with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity.
