Patch Picks: Five Slices You Need to Try

Give your taste buds a treat with something else than a plain slice.

While many Pelhamites have fostered a die-hard devotion to their “one and only” pizza place, it is time to put that plain slice to the side for the moment, and try the five that Patch has picked.

Eggplant Parmigiana Slice –

Where to start? This slice is simply perfect. It even looks beautiful. The eggplant parm is what really seals the deal for this slice. Crispy slivers of eggplance parm cover the entire surface. They are as thin as paper and melt in your mouth. Under a perfectly proportioned layer of fresh mozzarella cheese and sweet-tangy sauce, this slice really is something capable of turning even the most picky eaters into a true aficionado.

Fresh Tomato Slice-

A common misconception that needs to be promptly thrown out the window is that all pizza needs cheese. It is simply not true! This slice proves this and then some. The slice is a work of art. The tomatoes used are picture perfect: sliced thinly, but not enough to dry out. Fresh garlic, basil, and a sprinkling of olive oil make this slice’s perfection lie within its simplicity.

Chicken Parmigiana Slice-

While every pizzeria has a chicken slice, this one stands out amongst the rest. There are three reasons why you should try this chicken slice: First, the cheese. Whatever was done to this blend was the right choice indeed. Next, the chicken. Where most chicken toppings leave you stealing your friend’s drink, this is not the case by any means. The combination of the cheese and a generous amount of chicken makes it worth it alone, but add the thinnest crunchiest crust and you have a true stand out. Fork and knife are advised for maximum enjoyment.

Sausage Slice-

You are wondering why a lowly sausage slice made it onto this list. Well, it’s pretty simple: the quality of the ingredients. The sausage used really makes the difference; it is sweet, succulent, and saturates the slice with flavor. The sauce used is superb, but not too heavy. There are pockets of the sauce that bedazzle your taste buds whenever you bite into them. One can keep it simple and delicious while feeling mildly adventurous with this slice.

Chicken Caesar Salad Slice-

Last, but by no means least, is this misconception defeating salad slice that also happens to be healthy and appealing. The slice is heaped with crisp fresh Caesar salad and topped with gorgeous strips of grilled chicken. This huge slice is a wonderful alternative to indulge in and, it will by no means leave you jealous of your greasy-fingered friends. Knife and fork are also recommended for this slice.
