Restaurant Week Spotlight: Bistro Rollin in Pelham

Hudson Valley Restaurant week runs from March 18 until March 31. This feature highlights our local restaurants who are participating in the popular event.

If you haven't already, make your reservations now. Hudson Valley Restaurant Week runs from March 18 until March 31. It is a time when many participating restaurants offer prix fixe lunches for $20.95 and dinners for $29.95. 

The annual event, in its sixth year, entices people to venture outside of their local areas to try new restaurants. It also brings tourists from outside the region to Hudson Valley towns and cities to see what they have to offer. Last year, the event drew more than 200,000 people to 160 restaurants. This year the event features more than 200 restaurants.

Leading up to the week, we asked the owners of in Pelham a few questions about their offerings. We will post answers as they are provided. A copy of Bistro Rollin's menu for restaurant week is available in the PDFs to the right of this story. 

1. What do you like about restaurant week?

The widespread promotion brings a lot of new diners to Bistro Rollin to experience our wonderful food, service and ambiance.

2. Who decides the menu? What is the science behind a good prixe fix meal?

Our menus are always a collective effort led by our Chef Manny Lozano with participation by the owners. A good prix-fixe menu needs to have an interesting selection of excellent dishes in each category (appetizer, main course, and dessert) that showcase the capabilities of our kitchen. It must be priced so it is attractive to our customers and still makes sense for the restaurant. We offer prix-fixe meals all year at almost the same prices as during Restaurant Week, but we go the "extra mile" during the Restaurant Weeks because of the number of new guests who come in to see what we are all about. We love that!

3. What is your favorite dish on the Restaurant Week menu?

We have no favorites, they are all delicious!

4. Do you suggest reservations?

Yes, very definitely. Usually during the week reservations are not needed, but during the Restaurant Weeks reservations are highly recommended. EVERY NIGHT! 

5. Is your dessert home made? If not, where is it from?

Our desserts are all, and always, homemade as is everything else we serve. Our ice creams and sorbets, our pates, our quiches, etc.
