18 Questions To Ask A Potential Nanny Or Child Care Professional

Hiring a nanny or any type of child care can be a really frustrating process.  We as parents have so many questions and concerns when it comes to some stranger taking care of our child.  I'm about to start this process and thought about some really important questions that need to be addressed.  These are more then just questions, the answers will give you tons of information about the potential hire.  You just have to dig deeper into the answer.

1) Can you tell me about your prior experience?

2) Why do you want to care for children?

3) Can you tell me what life was like for you growing up?

4) Can you tell me about a good and bad experience you have had as a Nanny?

5) What does life look like for you now?

6) Can you tell me about your family and relationships with family members?

7) What kind of work environment do you thrive in?

8) What age groups have you worked with in the past?  What was your role?

9) What do you expect from us?

10) Do you have any hobbies or special interest?

11) If you got locked out of the house with the child what would you do?

12) What would your previous employers say about you?

13) Tell me a few adjectives that describe you best

14) How do you react when upset with a child?  With anyone else?

15) What type of diet do you  prefer?
