Editorial: Chartwells should go

We have reported in the past that a number of students dislike Chartwells' food, while some people do find it appetizing.

We have reported in the past that a number of students dislike Chartwells’ food, while some people do find it appetizing.

Many people already believe Chartwells shouldn’t be served in elementary school due to the condition of the food. People complain about frozen waffles, pancakes in bags, green eggs, and an Italian ice that looked more like green water with relish on it. Many students say they only enjoy Chartwells on Pizza Day, because the pizzas come from Pelham Pizza.

In a poll by this newspaper, 131 people said that they would rather have Lunch with Lou, our former lunch server, and only one person said that Chartwells was better. No offense Chartwells, but it seems that most people dislike your food, and want you out. At least in elementary school.

It isn’t as bad in the older grades in Pelham Middle School and Pelham Memorial High School. While elementary schools are stuck with not so pleasing food, the older kids get REAL hot dogs, sandwiches and other foods that are actually good. And, many students find this food delicious, not horrible. No offense.
