Girl Scouts camp out at farm, milk cows and goats, meet Fernando the donkey
SPROUT CREEK FARM — Fifteen Girl Scouts and 10 parents took a camping trip April 27 to this farm. It took an hour and a half to get there, but it was worth it.

SPROUT CREEK FARM — Fifteen Girl Scouts and 10 parents took a camping trip April 27 to this farm. It took an hour and a half to get there, but it was worth it.
The girls and their parents were split up into three cabins. When the groups were made, they made sure that there were five girls in each cabin and at least three parents.

“My favorite part of the farm was taking care of the animals because I love animals and I want them to be happy,” said Margot Wies, 4-G.
Over the weekend, the girls learned how to milk cows and goats. They also made bread, meatloaf, salad, sweet potato fries, french toast and peanut butter mousse. They fed the animals too.

Many of the girls loved playing with the baby goats. Saturday night, the girls and their parents went on a night hike during which the girls learned to identify and pick wild leaks. In the morning, they went for a walk by the creek and met a donkey named Fernando.
“I want to go back to the farm for summer camp,” said Julia Davis, 4-M.
