Batman: Arkham City is—wait for it—awesome. For those who don’t know what this game is, here are the basics to the story. In the previous game in the series, Batman: Arkham Asylum, the Joker got hold of something called titan, a strengthening drug, and used it on a bunch of villains including Scarecrow, Bane, Killer Kroc, and, eventually, himself.

This game is completely different. The story is that old-time Batman villain Hugo Strange made a deal with the mayor, Quincy Sharp, to seal off part of Gotham for all criminals, and Strange is going to initiate protocol 10. Still, that’s not the only plot. The Joker’s dying of the titan left in his blood, and he has shipped some of his blood to E.R. rooms all over Gotham, and injected Batman too.

Another nice touch is Catwoman. There is a code with all of the games to activate Catwoman as a playable character, and she is epic! She’s really fast and quick with attacks. She has her own arsenal of gadgets too (though not as many as Bats). And in some ways, she is better than Batman.

But that’s not to say Batman isn’t—wait for it—awesome. He has a gun that shoots electricity. He has a remote-control battarang, and his boss fights are awesome. The villains include the Penguin, Solomon Grundy, the Riddler, Two Face, the Mad Hatter and Hush. And a villains’ boss battle is his greatest performance. If you know Batman’s history, you may know what this is.

But anyway, this game is awesome! If you go and get it, it will not be a waste of money.

P.S. — If you haven’t noticed, I’m a huge Batman fan.
