Strawberries Abound on the Menu as the Patio Dining Season Begins at California Pizza Kitchen in Scarsdale

Not so very long ago, California Pizza Kitchen's Chief Executive Officer Gerard J. Hart said the company will be "daring to be different" as it enters the "next chapter" of its development.

A sign perhaps of this philosophy is visible this weekend at CPK's Scarsdale, NY location where General Manager Frank Basile is going all out to accommodate strawberry lovers. 

The outside patio dining season opened on Saturday, May 3, 2014, and whether eating inside or outside customers can feast on the following California strawberry-based treats.

  1. California Fields Salad. Strawberries, watermelon, field greens, feta cheese and pistachios. Half-portion ($9.99), full-portion ($13.95)
  2. Strawberry Lime Margarita. Strawberries, Casamigos Tequila Blanco, Perfect Puree Strawberry, fresh agave sour and lime
  3. Strawberry Rhubarb Martini. Strawberries, Monin organic agave nectar, fresh lemon and orange twist
  4. Strawberry Mango Cooler. Strawberries, hand-shaken with Fresca and Monin South Seas and featuring natural flavors of mango, guava and ginger
  5. Strawberry Shortcake Biscuit. Piled high with strawberries, whipped cream and house-made candied lemon zest ($6.99)  
  6. Lucy's Sour Strawberry Ale. From Broken Bow Brewery. Available by the glass while the supply lasts.
"We purchased one of only ten kegs of Sour Strawberry Ale brewed by Broken Bow Brewery," Basile, a Stamford, CT resident, said. "Once it's gone, it will be irreplaceable."

The restaurant will be open on Mother's Day, May 10, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parties of eight or more people should make reservations in advance.

The California Pizza Kitchen in Scarsdale is part of a 260 full-service restaurant chain with locations throughout the United States and in 51 other countries. Selected CPK products are also available in airports, sports stadiums and colleges and CPK food products, made by Nestle, can be found on many supermarket shelves.
