Two Patrons Tie for Grand Prize in Anna Maria's Oscar Winner Contest With 20 Out of 24 Correct Picks

Two guests tied for picking the most-correct predictions for Oscar winners at Anna Maria's Italian Restaurant in Larchmont. Both are being rewarded with $86 dining gift certificates.

The winners were Darcy Katris and David Levande. Both picked 20 winners and had four wrong. Approximately 130 ballots were submitted.

This was the eighty-sixth academy awards program—the reason for the $86 dining prize. The contest will be held again next year with the value of the prize going to $87.

The Oscars were presented by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 2.

In the event of a tie, the winner was supposed to be randomly chosen from the names of the finalists. But the restaurant decided to award gift certificates to both contestants.

"Our first Oscar party was so fun," said chef/owner Anna Maria Santorelli.

Anna Maria's is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday.

Every Wednesday is pasta night; a $19 two-course, prix-fixe dinner is offered with a salad or appetizer and a pasta selection. Ten pasta choices are available including spaghetti and meatballs and wine by the bottle is discounted by 20 percent.
