5 Things: Aardvark Jams, Mah Jongg and Blood Donations

Five things you need to know for Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011.

1)   is hosting today from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. The musical programs provide an experience that is appropriate for children entering pre-school or younger, but is still enjoyable for adults. The program costs $25 for the first child and $10 for any additional siblings. Call 914-834-3383 for additional information.

2) in Larchmont is hosting its Toddler Story Time at 10:30 a.m. The program, which is designed for children 18 months old to 3, provides activities ranging from stories to coloring. The event is free. Call 914-630-4581 for more information.

3) Antun’s of Westchester, located at 35 Valley Ave. in Elmsford, is hosting a community blood drive from noon to 6:30 p.m. Donors will receive a free champagne brunch, courtesy of Antun’s.  Call 1-800-733-2767 to schedule an appointment.

4) The , located at 135 Midland Ave. Bronxville, is holding its  from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. There is no charge for members of the club and beginners, but a $3 charge for non-members.

5) This day in history: in 1966, the Lunar Orbiter 1 unmanned spacecraft took the first photograph of Earth from the moon.
