Networking for Job Seekers, Cupcakes for a Cure

Here's a handful of things to watch for the week ahead:

Employment Networking Support Group, Monday, February 4, 6:30 p.m. RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development, 52 N. Broadway, White Plains, NY. Free 6-Week Networking/Support Group for persons who have lost their jobs.  Each week a different topic related to employment will be discussed (Resume writing, Interviewing Skills, Using the Internet, Skills Assessment). Adoption: Everything You Need to Know, Monday, February 4, 6:30 p.m. Port Chester-Rye Brook Library, 1 Haseco Ave., Port Chester, NY. This free event is open to anyone interested in or involved with the adoption process including professionals, community members, expectant parents, adoptive and prospective adoptive parents, and adoptees. Come learn about the domestic and international adoption process and meet the staff of Forever Families Through Adoption (FFTA). FFTA is authorized in NY and CT. Questions? The Innocence Movement: A Talk by Barry Scheck, Thursday, February 7, 5:30 p.m. Reisinger Concert Hall, Sarah Lawrence College, 1 Mead Way, Bronxville, NY. “The Innocence Movement: A Talk by Barry Scheck,” Barry Scheck is an attorney, co-founder and co-director of the Innocence Project. In February 2000, Actual Innocence: When Justice Goes Wrong and How to Make It Right—written by Scheck with co-founder and co-director Peter Neufeld, and New York Times reporter Jim Dwyer—was published by Doubleday, having grown out of the cases and stories of the Innocence Project at the Benjamin N. 3rd Annual Cupcakes for a Cure, Saturday, February 9, 12-4 p.m. The Westchester Mall, 125 Westchester Ave., White Plains, NY. Cupcakes, raffles, t-shirts and more by the fountain near Nordstrom’s.
