Family Fun Day for Charity
Where & When: 9 AM-6 PM Saturday at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Ave., White Plains
Why go: Games, prizes, clowns, raffles, face-painting, spin art, music, tasty treats. It's a benefit for CMG Fundraising Foundation & March of Dimes.
Cost: Suggested Donation at the Door: $5 per Child & $10 per Adult
Family Art Project: Cliffs on Stilts
Where & When: 10 AM-1 PM Saturday and Sunday at Wave Hill, W 248 St, Independence Av , W 252 St., The Bronx.
Why go: An artist leads this multi-media sculptural project that reflects his own work. We’ll use a mixture of clay, wood, sticks and photos to invent a 3-D interpretation of the natural rock formations of the Palisades.
Cost: Saturday: Free and admission to the grounds is free until noon. Sunday: Free with admission to the grounds. Admission: $8 adults, $4 students and seniors, $2 children 6-18
Hounds on the Sound Walkathon and Festival
Where & When: 10 AM-3 PM Sunday, Glen Island Park, New Rochelle
Why Go: If you're considering a dog as a family pet, check out this walk-a-thon featuring people who have adopted shelter dogs. They're raising money for the New Rochelle Humane Society and Pet Rescue of Larchmont, but you can just enjoy the happy dogs and their owners and stroll around the exhibits and vendors.

Fall Harvest Festival
Where & When: 10:30 AM-4 PM Saturday, Green Chimneys School, 400 Doansburg Road, Brewster NY. The rain date is the next day, Sept. 30.
Why Go: Looking for a day trip to the country with the kids? Hayrides, pumpkin decorating, live animal demonstrations, and games are some of the events at the farm and wildlife center that's home to 300 animals and part of this special place.
