Five Things: Flu Shots, Music and Mothers’ Meet-Up

Five things to know for Monday, Aug. 22, 2011.

1)  at the  Richard J. Daronco Town House Park as part of the town’s summer concert series. The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. More information is available here.


2) book shop in Larchmont is hosting today at 11 a.m. The program invites mothers with children, 18 months old or younger, to meet for stories, songs and book discussions. Call 914-630-4581 for more information.

3) is hosting “Criss-Crossing Borders - The Panama Suitcase Puppet Show” today from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The show is presented by Arm of the Sea, a mask and puppet theater company that will tell a series of tales inspired by their travels in Central America. The program, which is designed for children ages 4 to 10, will be presented in Spanish and English. Admission is free. Call  914-422-1480 for more information.

4) The  , located at 551 Main St. in New Rochelle, is providing flu shots today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for people 19 years of age and older. State Medicaid or Medicare Part B recipients may be eligible to receive the vaccine for free. Call 914-636-2225 for more information.
