Five Things for the Week Ahead: Budget Votes; The Pelham Guidance Council Meets and the Beach Boys Perform

What you need to know for the week of May 14, 2012.

 

1.) Residents across the state will take to the polls Tuesday, May 15, for their district’s annual budget referendums. The vote will take place here at the main gym of the Pelham Memorial High School. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pelham residents can catch up on all of the stories written on the budget proposal here and this year’s board of education candidates here on the Pelham Patch’s topics pages.

2.)  is hosting  on Tuesday, May 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event, which is presented by the Junior League of Pelham, is for preschoolers  age 3 and older. The program is free and open to the public.

3.) The Beach Boys inside the  on Tuesday May 15, for their 50th anniversary celebration tour. Tickets start at $59.50 and are available here.

4.) Wednesday, May 16, . “Family Time” is an initiative that encourages Pelham families to sit down and enjoy dinner together once a month during the school year. This is the third year that the Pelham PACT has organized the program. A list of take out menus for local restaurants can be found here.

5.) The Pelham Guidance Council is holding its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Hoag Parish Hall at the , located on 1415 Pelhamdale Avenue, Hoag Parish Hall. The Featured Guest Speaker is Nancy L. Kessler, LCSW. The “Kids Helping Kids” players will also be there to present “The Knight Before Glasses,” a tale about accepting people for who they really are. Refreshments will be served. RSVP by calling 914-738-0530.
