5 Things for the Week Ahead: Movies, Theater and Art

Here are a few of the activities taking place in the week of Feb. 13, 2012.

 

1.) in Pelham at 7:30 p.m. The romantic comedy was partially filmed in Pelham. Following the screening, there will be a question and answer session with Mitchell Case, the film’s director, producer and co-writer; and Byron Stankus, the film’s producer and co-writer. Tickets cost $12 at the door, $9 advanced purchase; $10 for seniors, student and children at the door and  $8 in advanced purchase. Members pay $6 at the door or in advance.

2.)  in Larchmont opens . The exhibit will spotlight the work of seven artists:  Mitchell Visoky, Annette Lieblein, Julia Sperry, B.A. D'Alessandro, Deborah Petrucci, Terry Kessler Schwarz, and Cary Thorp Brown from Feb. 14 to March 3. There will be a reception Saturday, Feb. 18 from 2-4 p.m. and all are welcome.  The snow date will be Feb. 25 from 2-4 p.m. The galleries is open Tuesday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m.

3.) Youth Theatre Interactions, Inc. will at the Riverfront Library, located at One Larkin Center,
Yonkers. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will celebrate Black History Month with performances of song, dance, and spoken word. The show begins at 6 p.m.

4.) The  Purchase College Repertory Theater an assortment of short plays by some of america’s most popular playwrights that were inspired by William Shakespeare. The performance will take place Thursday through Sunday at the college’s , located at 735 Anderson Hill Rd, Purchase. Tickets cost $17.50.

5.) The New Rochelle Arts Association’s first annual show, located at 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale. The exhibit, which opened Jan. 23 and will last until Feb. 26, features the work of 12 artists. Go here for more information.
