Five Things: Pelham Boards Meet, Republican Primary Set for Tuesday

Here are five things you should know for Monday, Sept. 12, 2011


1.) The Village of Pelham Manor and Town of Pelham boards are scheduled to meet tonight.

2.) Tuesday is the Republican primary for Pelham’s two town justice seats. Incumbent Stephen Huff is squaring off against challengers John DeChiaro and Stephen Ruffino. Anthony Pasquantonio, who currently sits in the other town justice seat, isn’t running for re-election this year.

George Bischof and Mercedes Maldonado are the Democratic candidates for town justice in November’s general elections.

3.)  Jazz musician Andrew Lipow is hosting Open Mic Night at the Gnarly Vine in New Rochelle today at 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Call 914-355-2541 for information.

4.) is hosting its family picnic at the school’s playground from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

5.) , which opened for the season last week, is accepting proposals for a sculpture to be installed in its open courtyard. The center wants work that has already been completed and is in need of a temporary home from September 2011 - June 2012. More information is available here.
