Claymation, Space, and Wii Games

Claymation for African-American History Month, Wednesday, February 20, 6 p.m. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains, NY. In honor of Black History Month the White Plains Library will host a four-part claymation workshop in which the participants will tell the life story of three famous African Americans. Westchester artist Susan Ordahl will discuss the general principals of animation, guide participants through the process of building characters made out of clay, and help participants develop effective story ideas. The finished claymation video will be posted on YouTube. 20 participants max. Registration is not required but greatly appreciated. For teens - high school. Snacks will be served. Students on school break join educators and Jr. Docents for creative activities and Planetarium shows. Explore the Hudson River in the Hudson Riverama gallery.  Discover the habitats of the animals that live there. 2/20 Get to know muskrats- Sculpt your own muskrat model. 2/21 See the different plants on the Hudson and make your own cattail. 2/22 Make your own marsh bird within a landscape. Planetarium Shows Daily at 2 and 3:30 pm- The Sky Tonight: Take a live tour of the heavens from our area - but without the city lights! Ocean of Air, Ocean of Space:  Explore the “invisible miracle” of the air we breathe and the remarkable planet whose life it sustains. Free with Museum admission. Wii Fun for Kids, Thursday, February 21, 4:30 p.m. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains, NY. Join in the Wii Fun games for kids! Coffee & Coloring/ Story Time at the Manor Club, Monday, February 25, 9:15 a.m. The Manor Club, 1023 Esplanade, Pelham, NY. Come join us at the Manor Club with your Pre-school child or any child not yet in school. Have a story read to them or they can color or play while Moms enjoy some coffee and food.
