Kids Planner: Rockin' Tots Music, Angelina Ballerina

Here's what to do with kids in White Plains this week.

Here's a few things to check out with your young bunch:

Young & Restless: Ages 1 1/2  -3 Months, Wednesday, February 13, 10:30 a.m. Larchmont Public Library, 121 Larchmont Ave, Larchmont, NY. Little movers and shakers can embrace their inner groove in this early literacy program. Registration is limited to the first 35 toddlers. Tickets will be given out starting at 9:15am the day of the program. A parent or caregiver must attend. For more information, call 914-834-2281.

Rockin’ Tots Music Class, Wednesday, February 13, 10 a.m. Weekday Nursery School of the New Rochelle United Methodist Church, 1200 North Ave., New Rochelle, NY. Tickets: $15. A special program for children ages 1-3 (siblings under 10 months are free!) Miss Laura acoustically rocks your toddler’s world in this upbeat, interactive music class where you and your child will sing, dance, clap, groove and wiggle to Laura’s original folk-pop tunes, as well as traditional kids’ favorites. This class is a great way to spend some musical time with your child! Puppets, musical props and shakers will be used throughout the session.

Claymation for African American History Month, Wednesday, February 13, 6 p.m. White Plains Public Library, 100 Martine Ave., White Plains, NY. In honor of Black History Month the White Plains Library will host a four-part claymation workshop in which the participants will tell the life story of three famous African Americans. Westchester artist Susan Ordahl will discuss the general principals of animation, guide participants through the process of building characters made out of clay, and help participants develop effective story ideas. The finished claymation video will be posted on YouTube. 20 participants max. Registration is not required but greatly appreciated. For teens - high school. Snacks will be served. Angelina Ballerina The Musical, Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17, 11 a.m.  and 1:30 p.m. Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts, 153 Library Ln., Mamaroneck, NY. Tickets: $13. Angelina and her friends - Alice, Gracie, AZ, Viki, and even their teacher, Ms. Mimi - are all aflutter because a famous visitor is coming to Camembert Academy! They will perform all types of dance, including hip-hop, modern, the Irish jig and, of course, ballet. Angelina is the most excited of all, but will she get the starring moment she hopes for? Based on the animated series, Angelina Ballerina The Next Steps on PBS KIDS and best-selling book, this family-friendly show will have the entire audience dancing. A Vital Theatre Company production. Family Weekend Science Project, Saturday, February 16, 1 p.m. Hudson River Museum, 511 Warburton Ave., Yonkers, NY. Admission: $5. Saturday, February 2 and 16, discover the structure of river ice in the Museum’s Hudson Riverama, an environmental teaching gallery. Make a snowflake to take home. Saturday, February 9 and 23 explore ice on other worlds in the Andrus Planetarium!  Learn about “icebows” and halos. For more information, call 914-963-4500.
