1) Wednesday Storytime at the Pelham Public Library
Where/When:
 , 530 Colonial Ave, Pelham, NY, Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 10:05 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Why go:
The Pelham Public Library is hosting Wednesday storytimes for children 2 and younger. The first session lasts from 10:05 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. and the second session lasts from 10:45 a.m, to 11:15 a.m.

2) End of Summer Party for Grades 1-5 at the the New Rochelle Public Library
Where/When:
New Rochelle Public Library,1 Library Plaza New Rochelle, Wednesday, Aug. 15; 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Why Go:  
Here’s a chance to dream about being out on the open seas, as the acclaimed “Pirate School” is coming to the End-of-the-Summer Party! Pirate School combines active, full audience participation with magic, originalmusic, eccentric props and slapstick antics. After the fun, award certificates will be presented to all who successfully completed the Summer Reading Game.

Why go:
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Fun Craft of Scarsdale hosts toddler storytime for an hour beginning at 10:30 a.m. Each storytime includes crafts, a healthy snack and dancing to music and colorful lights. Preregistration is required.

Why go:
Every Sunday, from July through October, the Science Barge on Yonkers' waterfront invites children ages 4 to 10 for hands-on Art & Science workshops. The workshop scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 19, is  “Magnetic Blitz.” Children will have the opportunity to learn about magnetic attraction and repulsion. They will also create a magnetic field filings picture.
